Hartland is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. It is located along the Bark River and is a suburb of Milwaukee. The village a has a total area of 5.17 square miles, of which, 5.12 square miles of it is land and 0.05 square miles is water.

Hartland was founded by Stephen Sylvanus-Warren who traveled to the area from Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1838. He purchased the first 245-acres and became the first settler, REALTOR® and builder. Soon, settlers  followed and helped develop the area through farming. The village was incorporated in 1892.

Situated  in the heart of Southern Wisconsin’s beautiful Lake County, the village of Hartland exudes a small town charm, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Hartland’s Department of Public Works maintains more than 85-acres of parks that offer paths for walking, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and playground equipment.

The park system also has many shelters which can be rented out for special events. The parks offer plenty of space for both visitors and residents to enjoy. It includes Bark River Greenway, Bark River Park, Castle Park, Centennial Park, Hartbrook Park, Joliet Park, Nixon Park, Nottingham Park, and Penbrook Park.

There are also two golf courses for those looking to improve their golf game or just want to enjoy the outdoors with a round of golf.

Bristlecone Pines Golf Club, designed by Scott Miller and Jack Nicklaus, has more than 7,000-acres of golfing pleasure with scenic views of the Kettle Moraine.

Songbird Hills Golf Course is an 18-hole public course constructed amidst the gorgeous landscape.
